Second day at the BFI Film Academy

So I went to the bar ask the workers if know where the BFI is and they told me is in the workstation , so I went outside went to the workstation and happen to see Sam outside.

So he show me where everybody is and I sat down, and I saw Paul for the first time he is really nice.

So Paul was talking about his role as a Scriptwriter and he got in the industry by making films with his friends and making his first proper short and that lead to his first feature film and having pay job.

So task that everybody had to do was writing down character and also reading as the third person and correcting any errors.

I find it hard because I read and try then my brain just go blank which was annoying.

We met up with Caroline Cooper Charles she was talking about her role as a producer so she tell us what producer does and she did a interactive so we would say was the next that needs to happen pre production and budgeting and knowing what will be the best day on shooting your film because you don’t want it to rain after all. I learned a lot about producer , they do so much other than just produce film as I thought .

We met up with Rebecca Mark Lawson she was talking about how to write a script and explaining all different roles she did in the industry and also she has a her company in Sheffield Tyke Films and also she produced Irene ghost which I Seen in the BFI Film residential course.

So she told us writing should short but sweet and not to overload the page massive paragraphs and also she told us about guy name Jason who made a short film called 2:20 it was about a guy who was minding his own business and then he looked around for a bit then lady across the road just staring at him , and she crossed and she walk down the pavement put down the glasses at his table.

So the man pick up the glasses and everything he sees has number , he looked many people it tells him when they go to die.

so he looked at himself by the car there was 00000 and then 20 and then he looked back there was the lady from earlier staring like last time and he was looking at her and then the bus came and he was dead the end.

After that watching I thought it was interesting to watch and Rebecca told us what’s the difference between the script and how it was in the movie.

So people say there was old man in the script but really it was a lady in the Film and it was said the café was scruffy but really in my opinion , it didn’t look that bad.

Rebecca was talking for a while she says go into your film group , to discuss what type of film that we would like to make as a short film.

So everybody went into there film group , So the group I was in we were discussing what ideas would be for a short film so Sophie was talking about about this this person trying to get a job and fails to do and a table just comes closer and closer everybody find it funny and Huema was talking about people life and all the different patterns and circumstances and Huema ask do I have a idea and I said yeah the ideas came up with is about this chef doing normal thing and the chef realises that the co-worker across from it didn’t look like a familiar person because it is actually a murder who’s disguising itself as a chef.

So we were brainstorming ideas of what will our short film was about.
